Matcha Lovin’
At last, Spring 2025 has arrived, and everything is starting to bloom and get green again. The time has come for my plant babies to be out of the greenhouse and to set up the “Café” for 2025. I have a vision of myself enjoying my cup of tea, especially a matcha latte in the Café while enjoying my book or just having my “me time”
I have developed a matcha Latte obsession lately After I started trying Instant matcha latte sachets that I found in the little produce store near my workplace, all of matcha latte satches have become instant favourites. Recently, It became a battle between chai and Matcha when I am in a coffee shop. For the most part, I haven’t encountered a coffee shop where they serve subpar Matcha Latte - BUT I know a very few places where I would get my Chai latte.
Metro Vancouver also celebrates the blooming of the cherry Blossoms in early spring. Some Tea Places and coffee shops have Cherry Blossom themes in their Spring Menu. To Welcome Spring and enjoy the upcoming blooming of Cherry Blossoms, we chose Tsujiri for their Hanami-themed afternoon tea. I recommended Tsujiri because of my recent Matcha Obsession.
It’s my sister’s first time trying Tsujiri, luckily we were able to grab a spot in their Tatami Room. I have heard that it’s quite difficult to get a spot as this one can accommodate three small groups.

The whole afternoon Tea was hit, Aside the unique experience of being in a “Tatami Room” My sister and I loved the Daifuku. Next to the onigiris, they were probably our favourite sweets from our set. We both noticed the light and creamy filling—it's my definition of Matcha Heaven.
I wished we could order more Matcha daifuku, but it seemed that it was not being offered in their à la carte menu. Good thing, I hoarded matcha snacks when I had an opportunity to visit my favourite Japanese convenience store in downtown Vancouver during my Outing. So I think I am safe for awhile when my Matcha cravings knock…
